ACTIVITIES IN SUMMER:
On a day trip up to the fells you can experience true Lapland nature. Lomatärppi cottages are an excellent base for exploring the region. At the end of the day your cosy cottage and warm sauna help you relax.
You have the Paistunturi Wilderness Area (1570 km2), and Kaldoaivi Wilderness area (2924 km2) on your doorstep.
Fishing in the Tana River is an experience but at the moment the Atlantic salmon is protected. You can catch European grayling in the Utsjoki River that flows through the village. Fishing nearby is easy and with a large population of European grayling even younger fishermen can get great fishing experiences. You can buy fishing permits for Utsjoki at Lomatärppi.
